Celebrations at Metsec today as we received not one but two awards for our current fostering film “Any of Us”.

Rt Hon Jacqui Smith, Chair of Sandwell Children’s Trust, was on hand to collect the “Best Collaboration” and “Best Creative Comms” awards for the film project from project co-ordinators CAN Digital.

The comms2point0 UnAwards which recognises excellence in public sector communications, were presented by John Cooper and Dalbir Kaur of CAN Digital after being judged by a mix of panel and community voting.

“We’re really proud to win these awards but even prouder about what they say about our way of working.  To be recognised in the “Best Collaboration” and “Best Creative Comms” categories is a vindication of what Sandwell Children’s Trust is striving to achieve-working smarter, finding new solutions and partnerships so that we can provide the best support to our foster carers and ensure that our most vulnerable children and young people get the love, care and support they deserve.”

Emma Taylor, CEO of Sandwell Children’s Trust added;

“Any of Us’ is an important film that we show to all our prospective foster carers. It has a significant impact on them as they start their fostering careers and it’s also part of our drive to recruit more carers that we urgently need. Sandwell Children’s Trust was one of the founding contributors to this collaborative project and we recognised that only by working in partnership can we produce promotional films to this standard.

As the project has grown, so has our capacity to produce films like this that support our work to recruit the foster carers that Sandwell needs. Importantly, it means our children benefit from a stable and loving home, so they more able to reach their potential. That’s why this matters so much.”

When making the awards the UnAwards judging panel said:

“This is exactly the kind of campaign the public sector needs right now. It combined precious resources to secure a better chance of success for everyone who collaborated – boosted by smart targeting and a beautifully shot video. It just goes to show what can be achieved through our industry working together to address common challenges.”
